Costco Trip & Frozen Burger Prep

Here's my latest Costco trip:
Organic Frozen Broccoli 4 lb $6.49
Organic Apple Slices 3 lb $8.99
Organic Frozen Blueberries 3 lb $11.59
Organic Diced Tomatoes (8) 14.5 oz cans $5.99
Organic Tomato Paste (12) 6 oz cans $5.99
Sea Salt 30 oz $2.79
Avocados 6ct $4.79
Ground Beef @ $2.99/lb = $17.07
Bacon (2) 4 lbs @ $11.99 each
Total $88.56

I rather save my good pink salt for cooking, so I picked up this white sea salt just for soaking almonds and nuts.

I save my good, lean grass-fed beef for casseroles and meatloaves, and use this regular beef for burgers. I prefer the taste of this meat for my burgers, and I think the extra fat makes it a better burger. I do drain and toss the fat. I like to make patties and freeze this meat so we can quickly throw a couple burgers on the foreman when we want. I use a 1/2 measuring cup to scoop and form the patties, place on parchment paper cut into squares, mash with my hand to desired shape, stack into an old bread bag, tie up, and freeze. Last batch of these really got smooshed at the bottom, so here's what I did this time:
I stacked my 17 patties on a baking sheet in 4 smaller stacks and put directly into my freezer. I totally forgot about them for 4 hours, and they were frozen when I checked on them. They were super easy to stack right  into the bread bag and tie up. I think these taste better than pre-formed patties, and it's also cheaper!
