Vitacost Order

Vitacost (referral link) is quickly becoming one of my favorites for great prices on real food and natural products. Everyone who registers with them gets an e-mailed coupon good for $10 off their first order. I believe mine had an expiration of 30 days. Their coconut oil is awesome! It's unrefined, organic, and virgin. This is by far the best price I've found, and we think it tastes the best, too! The canned coconut milk is good, too. This one comes in a BPA-free can, is organic, and unsweetened. Since we are in the process of removing dairy, this is a nice replacement for heavy cream in our coffee. The Kirk's Castile Soap is mild, made of coconut soap, water, vegetable glycerin, and coconut oil...not bad for $0.97! I love the homemade soap I found a few weeks ago at the Farmer's Market, but it is very expensive. I think this soap will work fine for us for the time being.

I'm a wife and mom who is learning how to eat REAL foods: clean, whole, and natural foods. This blog exists to share some of the wonderful things we've found, like where to find real food and how to prepare it. We are sharing our recipes and others that we've found along the way. Through this process, we have eliminated as many processed foods as possible. We have removed all grains and legumes, refined sugars and artificial sweeteners, unhealthy fats, and, most recently, dairy. I have lost over 75 lbs since our start, and my husband has lost over 35 lbs. We've seen great health improvements: less sinus/allergy issues, total heartburn relief, increased/more consistent energy, better moods, better stress management, clearer skin, improved digestion, and more. We both feel better than we have in years. We rarely take any medications and are on no prescription drugs. We LOVE the way we eat and never feel deprived. It feels so good to be able to eat without measuring, counting, or weighing our foods. We just eat real foods and as much as we want of it. This is a wonderful experience for us. I'm not trying to tell anyone how to eat, just what has worked for us.
