CSA Basket

This is my latest CSA Basket from Sugarfoot Organic Farms. It was packed full of fresh, organic goodies: strawberries, squashes, red and white onions, creasy greens, spinach, cherry tomatoes, beets + leaves, and cucumbers. If anyone knows what the large, light green and small, flower/UFO-shaped squashes are called, leave me a comment! We bought our shares at the beginning of the season, paying in full to get a discount ;) Weekly baskets come out to $41.95 each and this one will last us most of the week.

About me...

I'm a wife and mom who is learning how to eat REAL foods: clean, whole, and natural foods. This blog exists to share some of the wonderful things we've found, like where to find real food and how to prepare it. We are sharing our recipes and others that we've found along the way. Through this process, we have eliminated as many processed foods as possible. We have removed all grains and legumes, refined sugars and artificial sweeteners, unhealthy fats, and, most recently, dairy. I have lost over 75 lbs since our start, and my husband has lost over 35 lbs. We've seen great health improvements: less sinus/allergy issues, total heartburn relief, increased/more consistent energy, better moods, better stress management, clearer skin, improved digestion, and more. We both feel better than we have in years. We rarely take any medications and are on no prescription drugs. We LOVE the way we eat and never feel deprived. It feels so good to be able to eat without measuring, counting, or weighing our foods. We just eat real foods and as much as we want of it. This is a wonderful experience for us. I'm not trying to tell anyone how to eat, just what has worked for us.
