Ovis Hill Trip

I usually hit up Ovis Hill once a month, but not this month. We ran out of hamburger, so I used that an an excuse for us to go and get more eggs and milk! We usually buy 6 dozen at a time, and that might last 2 weeks. So when we run out, I buy eggs from Costco which are Organic, Cage-Free, and Certified Humane Raised & Handled. If you are (rightfully) confused by all the marketing labels, check out this article from Mark's Daily Apple. Pastured eggs are definitely your best bet for taste and nutrition! Here's what I picked up:
6 dozen eggs, $4 ea
Lamb organs: heart, liver, kidney $2/lb
Lamb Heart $0.60
4 packs hamburger $6/lb
2 lb Beef Sirlion Roast (from the scratch & dent cooler 60% off!) $9.42
1 Gal low-pasteurized milk $6.50
Total: $68.01
