Ovis Hill Trip

We picked up a lot of great foods from Ovis Hill market today! All the beef is from grass-fed cows, the eggs are from pastured chickens, the pork is pastured, the veggies are organic, the dairy is from grass-fed cows and is low-pasteurized, and the honey is raw and local. If you like organ meat, this is a really affordable way to get in super healthy food, probably due to the "ick" factor. Keith eats it regularly, and I usually just sample whatever he's having. I'm working on it, lol. I love shopping at Ovis Hill where the food is high quality, nutrient-dense, and very tasty! The cherry tomatoes were CRAZY good (in the brown bag in pic). We bought:
  • 2 packs Sun-Dried Tomato & Pesto Pork Sausage, $7.99/lb
  • 2 packs Lamb Soup Bones, $2/lb
  • 2 packs Lamb Organs: Heart, Liver, Kidney, $2/lb
  • 8 dozen Eggs, $4/doz
  • 1 lb Cherry Tomatoes, $3.99
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, $1.50
  • 1 gal Milk, $6.50
  • 2 lb Butter, $10
  • 1 pint Honey, $6.75
  • 5 lb Hamburger, sale $5/lb
  • 16.5 lb (approx) Beef Share: steaks, roasts, stew, and hamburger. We prepaid for this back in April as explained here. This meat share comes out to $93.33 per month, or $5.66/lb this trip.
Cost for today's pickup: $118.23 + $93.33 (meat share) = $211.56 for everything!
